Most popular islands in the Balearics

  • Majorca: is not only the largest island of the Balearics, but also in the whole of Spain and it has lots of things to visit. On one side you will find beautiful bays and beaches like the Es Trenc, Cala Varques or Cala Llamp where you can marvel at the wonders of nature, among others in the Sierra de Tramuntana or Cabrera. Alternatively, go on a journey through the history of the island if you visit the Cathedral of Palma, the Castell de Bellver or the Monastery of Lluc. Majorca is also know by resorts like Magaluf and Santa Ponça in the western coast or Alcúdia and Pollença in the north. These are probably the most important destinations in the island, but you shouldn't forget about Sóller and its beautiful habour called Port de Sóller, both of them sorrounded by mountains. On the east side, Cala d'Or and Cala Millor must be considered as well.
  • Minorca: the current name of the island explains its dimensions quite logically; since it originates from the Latin ‘Minorca’ which the Romans called it as it was smaller than its neighbour Mallorca. It is the closest to Italy, as it is northeast of the Balearic archipelago. It contains many places of origin dating back many years, such as the Naveta des Tudons or the Tower de’n Galmés which were both built in prehistoric times. It is home to some of the best preserved Talayotic villages in Europe and as a result, making Menorca a candidate as a UNESCO World Heritage. In Minorca we recommend you its two most important towns, Mahón and Ciutadella, one on each side. But you if you are looking for destinations where to relax, Cala Galdana is very close to one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole island, and nearby two great options more like Son Bou or Punta Prima.
  • Ibiza: such is the environmental value of Ibiza, that almost 100 sq km of the island was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999. Among them, the Phoenician deposit of Sa Caleta, first settlement on the island; the Carthaginian necropolis of Puig des Molins; and the walled city of Dalt Vila. All of them form heritage of Ibiza’s past and complement the main attraction of the island, which is leisure. It is clear that, if Ibiza is what it is today, it owes it in large part to its beaches and the nightclubs that surround them. The best example of this is Platja de'n Bossa, where you can enjoy the night until de sun comes up again. And it's very close to the historic town of Ibiza, the capital. Also in the east there are two more great places to stay such as Siesta and Cala Llonga, very close to each other. On the other side, in the western coast, you can find Sant Antoni de Portmany, the second most important place in the island. Finally, in the north Portinatx is our last recommendation in Ibiza.
  • Formentera: is the smallest one in the Balearic Islands, but only in terms of dimensions as it owns the same beauty than the other ones. Es Caló des Mort, Cala Saona and Illetes are amazing beaches that you will never forget. It's sunsets neither. For holiday accommodation, Es Pujols
  • and La Savina our favorite places.
