  • Take your home anywhere with this flat pack house

  • We’re all used to taking a trip to Ikea and building flat-pack furniture, but have you ever seen a flat-pack house? The best part is that you don’t even have to make it, it builds itself!

It was created by the engineers at Ten fold who wanted to make something more affordable and which you can transport anywhere you want to. It costs just £100,000 which makes it a lot cheaper than many of the houses for sale at the moment.

The house can fold and unfold in a matter of minutes. You enter through the door at the front and you can even stack them on top of one another to create more space.  There are already various different styles and shapes to cater to your needs.

These folding houses are perfect for living in but can also be used as offices, clinics, homeless shelters, hospitals and anything which needs to be done now. It’s a great way to help businesses to grow fast and also to avoid derelict buildings as you can simply move it to where you want to go.

Ten fold wanted to design a flatpack house to help young people get on the property ladder. As house prices have rocketed in the UK and especially cities such as London, Ten fold decided this was an alternative way to own a home.

David states: “It will allow the young to get a building without owning the land, it changes the dynamics of the market which does need to change because it is a transportable property asset,”

“There’s never been one before and this is a really solid building that doesn’t have to stay in the same place. It’s totally like any normal house, the only issue is that these units can be devised so they can be plugged into traditional infrastructure.” David told Metro.

What do you think about this folding home? Would you buy it or do you prefer to own a real house?
