  • 7 natural wonders and 5 apartments in Tenerife

  • You might think of Tenerife as a possible cheap holiday resort destination which offers convenience and year-round sun. But considering the island itself was formed from volcanic activity, it is abundant with natural landscapes that will rival anything you’ve ever seen before. Characterised by basalt black sand and crystal clear waters, it’s certainly worth picking one of our wonderful Tenerife holiday apartments to gaze over the wonders of the cliffs or top of a dormant volcano.

    1. Mount Teide

The tallest of the mountains on this rocky island can be seen from any point. Puckered in the middle, it is the highest mountain in the whole of Spain and is topped with snow, which is far different to any of Tenerife’s other natural phenonenons. You can catch a cable car to see the wonder of this mountain and marvel at the views.

    2. Anaga

This laurel forest is like nothing you’ve ever seen. Declared a Biosphere reserve, this incredible woodland is certainly worth exploring, and offers a cool respite from the summer sun with some of the best walking routes on the island.

    3. Los Gigantes cliffs

On the west of the island are these stunning cliff faces that reach over 800m. They form part of a colossal mountain range and have an eponymous resort nearby. They have often been compared to the Cliffs of Dover in England and Moher in Ireland, due to their dramatic drop into the ocean.

    4. Masca Valley

Deep within the Teno mountains is the small village of Masca, flanked by deep ravines of plush botanicals and greenery. It is worth hiking uphill to gaze down into the sparkling emerald valley and its unique geological formation.

    5. Montana Amarilla

This beach is characterised by its wonderful contrast between the black, volcanic pebble beach and the yellow cliffs of the mountain. It has been declared a Natural Monument, and the water is crystal clear.

    6. Badlands of Guimar

Formed from basalt lava and volcanic eruptions, this area is both ashy and plentiful in its greenery. It is a national park and a beautiful, untouched area of the island.

    7. Corona Forestal

A magical natural park that will allow you to take shelter beneath the trees and lose yourself in the woodland surroundings.
