Even if you are a regular traveller and have already visited many places around the world, we’re sure there are still many more amazing things left to see. Today Hundredrooms is going to share some amazing sites which will leave you lost for words.


    Magical places to visit at least once in your lifetime

    The Wisteria Flower tunnel is located in Kawachi Fuji Gardens about a 4 hour drive from Tokyo. It’s a place which will surely take your breath away, when in flowering season, the intense lilac and violet colours are stunning. The whole garden is pretty and a romantic spot to visit. The best time would be between April and May when the flowers are at their best.


    The Sea of Stars, Maldives

    The sea of stars is a phenomenon of bio-luminescence located on Vaadhoo Island in the Maldives. When the night falls and the temperatures have been high during the day is when this attractive is best appreciated. In the shoreline you can see small lights which look like reflected stars but in reality are plankton and micro biotic forms. When they come into contact with hot air is when they produce this blue glow. This incredible view along with the Maldives beautiful beaches and coast make is one of the best tourist destinations in the world.

    Neuschwanstein Castle is more commonly known as the castle of the crazy king. It is situated in the midst of an incredible landscape, elevated above you valley like a magical fortress. King Ludwig II from Bavaria nicknamed the king this name for his eccentric and dreamy character and told him to build this castle to escape from his responsibilities and stay in his fantasy world in solitude.

    It is one of the most amazing places in Europe, the decoration of the rooms inside were inspired by the works of Richard Wagner. And you may not know that Neuschwanstein Castle actually inspired Walt Disney to create the famous castle of sleeping beauty.


    Angkor Wat Temple, Cambodia


    If you’re looking for a complete alternative, how about the spectacular Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia. It’s a lost city inside a jungle, surrounded by overgrown trees and wild nature. Angkor Wat translates as the city of temples which were originally built as Hindu but eventually became Buddhist.

    It’s estimated that the time of splendour Angkor Wat was between the 9th and 15th centuries in the Jenner Empire. They are known to be slightly similar to the Indiana Jones films!


    Plitvice Lakes, Croatia

    The Plitvice Lakes in Croatia are some of the most beautiful natural parks in Europe. Here you can explore waterfalls, lakes, springs and wild nature, what more could you want? They are located in the Lika region and near to the capital city Zagreb. This fantasy landscape was formed during the Jurassic and Triassic eras. It’s one of the most magical places in the world and an ideal place to get lost in!

    The village of Colmar is definitely one of the most magical villages in Europe. It’s located in the Alsace region, close to the Black Forest and the German-French border. Their colourful wooden houses take you back in time and will make you feel like you’re part of a fairy tale. The beauty and the beast was also inspired by Colmar!


    Pamukkale, Turkey

    Of all the natural places in the world Pamukkale comes out of the top. Located in the valley of the river Menderes, this area of natural pools is one of a kind. The peculiar white rocks are formed because of the hot springs which have a high amount of mineral chert. The various chemical reactions that have happened over time made this landscape as it is today. It could be mistaken for an icy waterfall, whereas it’s actually hot water.

    These curiously shaped trees are so common in Madagascar that they’re lining a whole avenue. In this place there are 30 metre trees which border a red dirt road with the best African scenery as a backdrop. The Avenue of the Baobabs is situated in the Menabe region between the towns Morondava and Belon’i Tsiribihina. They’re nicknamed as the ‘mothers of the jungle’ and around 800 years old!

    The forest of Hallerbos in Belgium is one of those magical forests which doesn’t seem real. It could be a home to goblins, fairies and other creatures from fantasy stories. The ground is completely covered in a dense blanket of wild blue hyacinths and it is a blue explosion which contrasts against the green leaves of the trees. The best time to visit is in springtime when the flowers reach their maximum beauty.


    Saint Basil’s Cathedral, Russia

    St. Basil’s cathedral is a world famous icon and one of the most interesting buildings in the world. The eccentric colours and strange dome shapes make it one of a kind. It’s located in the Red Square in the centre of Moscow and was built by Ivan Barma in 1554 as a victory to conquering Kanato of Kazan.
