Choose from many apartments in in the Italian capital and discover the history of the place. Centuries ago, this was a city that dominated the entire Mediterranean coast and a large part of Europe, hence why it played a key role in the history of the continent that we know today. We certainly wouldn’t be speaking the languages that we have today without its influence! The ancient capital of the Roman Empire still retains all evidence of a glorious past - so what are you waiting for? Do as the Romans do and follow our guide on where to stay and find the best in places to stay. If you’re thinking of travelling around, one of the best routes to take is between Rome and Florence by train. Rome is divided into districts or ‘rioni’, each with its own particular charm. Take a look at the following that are favourites among both visitors and locals:

  • Rione Monti: A stone’s throw from the Colosseum and the Fori Imperiali, this is one of the most beautiful areas of the city, and is full of bars and lovely little haunts to spend magnificent evenings in Rome. The area between via Nazionale and via Cavour is particularly special, and it has many 19th century artisan shops and has some magnificent views over the Piazzetta della Madonna dei Monti and the via dei Serpenti. Some of the most important Roman buildings are located in this district, and in recent years it has become increasingly popular with young people, hailing as an artistic mecca which mixes contemporary and ancient history. If you’re looking an apartment in the city centre, this could be the right neighbourhood for you.
  • Trevi: Here you will find the Trevi Fountain which is probably the most famous in the world. Staying in an studio apartment here among its small streets would give you the opportunity to enjoy the fountain during quieter hours away from the mass of tourists that during the day block the view! An interesting fact: of the 900 churches in Rome, none are found in this district!
  • Trastevere: This is the most romantic district of Rome, on the opposite bank of the Tiber. It is ideal for an evening aperitif, in one of the many streets or in Piazza Trilussa, which in the evening comes alive and is populated with street artists making for a truly magical atmosphere. This is hands down one of the best places to be. There is an infinite number of trattorias, cafes and terraces that are perfect for a summer drink, live music and a fascinating medieval atmosphere. The Porta Portese market is a great option - you couldn’t ask for more from this neighbourhood. The apartments with a terrace are particularly popular, and tend to be cheaper than other areas in Rome.
  • Pincio: The Pinciano district is the ideal place to stay for those who love art and culture. It is located near Villa Borghese, the park that, thanks to its museum, is a mix of nature, relaxation and art that you can not miss. If you are looking for luxury apartments in Rome, you certainly won’t be disappointed here.
  • Monteverde: Here is another important park, Villa Pamphili which is the largest in Rome. Located on the Gianicolo hill, it is one of the quieter neighbourhoods and houses some of the most beautiful Liberty buildings in Rome. It is the right place to relax and enjoy breathtaking views of the city. Further out from the centre, it has an irresistible charm for a romantic getaway without the bustling of staying in the most touristy areas.
