Gather the whole family under a shared terrace in Keszthely, on Lake Balaton's western shore.
This semi-detached house sleeps up to 8 across four double bedrooms, just a few minutes' walk from the beach. The ground floor holds a double bedroom alongside a kitchenette with extra storage, a shower room and a separate WC at the end of the hall, while three further double bedrooms and a second shower room fill the floor above.
A lounge-diner opens onto the shared terrace, air-conditioned and furnished for long evenings together, with the kitchenette fitted for family-style cooking.
Outside, a shared garden and fenced grounds give plenty of room to spread out, a front terrace for long lunches and the back garden with a bogrács--a traditional Hungarian outdoor cooking pot--perfect for enjoying slow-cooked goulash over an open fire for an evening of slow-cooked stew. Keszthely's town centre, home to the baroque Festetics Palace, the quirky Snail Parliament, the Festetics Lookout Tower, Helikon Park and the Szigetfürdő pool complex, is a 7-minute drive away, along with the giant wheel, Lake Balaton boat tours and the Balaton Museum. A 10-minute walk brings guests to the lakeside promenade, with its lido, the Keszthely Yacht Club and biking and hiking trails along the water, and restaurants and cafés are within easy walking distance too. Further out, the Hévíz Thermal Lake, the world's largest biologically active thermal lake, is a 15-minute drive, and the volcanic vineyards of the Badacsony wine region, known for the local Kéknyelű grape, are a 30-minute drive.
