House & grounds
As this is a 16th-century building, the interior layout reflects the architecture of that era.
The apartment is located on the ground floor and is accessible via an entrance staircase; a second internal staircase leads to the main bathroom.
Both staircases are equipped with sturdy and secure handrails.
However, due to the presence of these steps and elevation changes typical of the era, the property is not suitable for people with limited mobility or who have difficulty climbing stairs.
House of the Grammar Teacher
If you look up “Via Garibaldi (Prato)” on Wikipedia, you’ll find that “at numbers 15–19 is the home and school
of Jacopo Visi, a grammar teacher, which features two stories and two small doorways from 1508 on the facade, arched and surmounted by niches with inscriptions.”
Anna Sanesi
The most important 20th-century painter from Prato, a student of Ottone Rosai, teacher, and director of the Leonardo School of Arts and Crafts in Prato, lived and worked in this house.
Several original works are on display in her honour.
Location & surroundings
Located right in the historic centre, the residence is within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, museums, and monuments.
The Porta al Serraglio train station is just 400 metres away and offers quick and frequent connections to Florence and the rest of Tuscany.
