Casa Rural de Straw and Clay welcomes you to Valencia de Alcántara, on the border between Spain and Portugal.
This rural house has been restored from an old building with straw and clay walls.
In summer, it stays cool inside, while in winter it retains the warmth from the fireplace.
With 180 m², the house accommodates up to 10 guests in 4 bedrooms, a living room, and 4 bathrooms.
The kitchen is fully equipped so you can prepare your meals, and during harvest season, you can enjoy local vegetables from the owners' garden.
Amenities include Wi-Fi, TV, fan, washing machine, workspace, and step-free access indoors.
For families with children, a high chair, crib, and playpen are available for an extra fee, as well as shared toys and books, a wooden playground, and a zip line. The property is set within a 140,000 m² estate where you can walk and relax among centuries-old cork oaks and holm oaks with granite formations.
There is a porch attached to the house with a barbecue, a private open pergola, and an outdoor shower with hot water next to the pool.
The property offers mountain views.
The private outdoor pool is open from June to September, with wooden loungers and towels included.
There is also a shared ping-pong table, pool table, and foosball table. Pets are not allowed, and parties or events are not permitted. Nearby, you can go kayaking, try via ferrata routes, beginner climbing, boat trips on the International Tagus, visit megalithic sites, and swim in natural pools in Codosera and Portagem, near Marvao (Portugal). In summer, local festivals are held in nearby villages.
