Casa Paredones is a country house in Álora, in the heart of the Guadalhorce Valley, designed for groups of family or friends who want to enjoy the outdoors.
Winters are mild and summers are intense, and the house is designed with that in mind: a terrace, a garden with a pool, and thick walls that keep the interior cool. Inside, the white walls and traditional mosaic flooring give the living room a character all its own. The turquoise sofa is the most sought-after spot when the heat of mid-afternoon sets in, and the light shifts in hue depending on the time of day. The outdoor terrace with a table works just as well for breakfast as it does for dinner under the Andalusian sky. The garden features a crystal-clear swimming pool and a lawn, with an olive tree adding to the ambiance.
As night falls, the terrace lights up and the outdoor table becomes the focal point for summer dinners, beneath a clear sky and with a breeze blowing down from the mountains. The region offers plenty to choose from: the Caminito del Rey and the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, Álora Castle with views of the valley of lemon and orange groves, the Mozarabic ruins of Bobastro, and the reservoirs of El Chorro.
For dining, Casa Abilio in Álora and La Garganta in El Chorro are well-established local favorites.
