The Schwarzwälder Hof is centrally located in Freiburg’s historic old town, just a few steps from the cathedral (Münster), the Bächle streams, and numerous cafés, restaurants, and shops. This traditional hotel offers 38 comfortable rooms in various categories, spread across the main building and a guesthouse.
Parking is available in the nearby Schlossberg Garage (approx. 300 m, special rates for guests). The main train station is about a 10-minute walk away. With the free regional ticket, guests can conveniently use public transport in Freiburg and the surrounding area.
Many leisure and excursion options—such as the Schlossberg hill, the Black Forest, and cultural sights—are within easy reach.
We offer three different room categories, each with its own character.
The “Herrenstraße” rooms, located in the over 400-year-old main building, radiate understated elegance and the charm of historic architecture.
The “Münzgasse” category rooms are compact and functional without sacrificing coziness. Decorated with photographs by Freiburg artist Frank Bale, they feature motifs from the Black Forest.
In the “Konviktstraße” category you’ll find our urban single and double rooms—simple, modern, and in part facing the inner courtyard, with a generous layout.
Our rooms are as individual as our guests.
Differing cancellation conditions
The guest can cancel free of charge until 2 days before arrival. The guest will be charged 90% of the price of the reservation if they cancel in the 2 days before arrival.

Please note that the prices do not include the tourims tax. Should a tourism tax be required at the place where you are staying it is payable on arrival.
