Brandscheid is located close to the border with Belgium and Luxembourg. This part of the Eifel is also known as the Schneifel. You can definitely expect snow here in winter. The highest mountain in the Eifel, the Black Man (675 metres), is nearby. If there is enough snow, you can even go skiing there. But the main reason to go on holiday here is the peace and quiet and the nature. You will find a few small villages and otherwise a hilly and wooded landscape. Prüm is the nearest larger town. Here you can eat in one of the restaurants, shop and swim in an indoor pool. The St Salvator Basilica, where Christ's sandals are kept as a relic, and Prüm Abbey are beautiful and invite you to linger. If you like cities, Trier is an hour's drive away and well worth a day trip. Clervaux in Luxembourg can also be reached in 45 minutes. There are also volcanic lakes in the Eifel where you can swim and several beautiful animal parks. Waxweiler is home to the Eifelzoo, a wildlife park with more than 400 animal species from all over the world. In short, this region is ideal for anyone looking for peace and quiet and has something for everyone
