Location & surroundings
Sitting just above the palm-lined promenade of Sitges’ popular San Sebastian beach, Apartment Alegria is a bright, welcoming retreat with uninterrupted sea views and an enviable beachfront position.
And with beach bars, cafés and restaurants quite literally at your doorstep, and Sitges' vibrant old town just a two-minute stroll away, Apartment Alegria is a delightful escape for those wanting to live and breathe the Mediterranean seaside lifestyle.
Located in the San Sebastian quarter of Sitges, Apartment Alegria enjoys one of the most coveted positions in town, overlooking the golden sand and deep blue sea of this iconic Catalan beach. This area is adored by locals and visitors alike for its charming, more tranquil atmosphere, while still being mere minutes from Sitges’ lively centre.
Step out of your front door and you’re already on the seafront promenade, with its chic cafés, tapas bars, and family-run restaurants serving fresh seafood and paella right by the waves. The beach here is clean, spacious, and lively, but never overcrowded. Whether you prefer to sunbathe, take a dip, or simply stroll along the shore, the beach is an extension of your front garden.
The heart of Sitges is just a short, scenic walk away. Lose yourself in cobbled lanes lined with boutiques, artisan ice cream shops, galleries and vibrant bars. The town is known for its bohemian spirit and artsy heritage, Picasso and Dalí were established visitors, and its year-round calendar of festivals, including the famous Carnival and the Sitges Film Festival.
If you’re feeling active, rent bikes, take a paddleboard lesson, or explore the surrounding Garraf Natural Park with its hiking trails and vineyard views. For culture lovers, the Maricel Museum and Cau Ferrat, once home to artist Santiago Rusiñol, offer a glimpse into Sitges’ rich artistic past.
Transport-wise, Sitges is exceptionally well connected. Frequent trains run from the local station to Barcelona in just 35 minutes, ideal for a day of city exploration before returning to your seaside sanctuary. There are also regular buses and taxis available, and everything in Sitges

Perfect location, just a few steps from the beach.
Great balcony for watching all the activity, which while we were there included filming for TV, ballet lessons on the beach and a parade of giants.

What a great location on the boardwalk. Easily walk into town for shopping, restaurants, and museums. Or take a few steps to the beach.
