Description of the accommodation
Welcome to the former schoolhouse in the Schweigen district, described in a 1952 newspaper report as "The most beautiful schoolhouse in the Palatinate." The old schoolhouse is located slightly elevated in the center of Schweigen, right next to the sculpture garden in the community park.
The vineyards and the wine educational trail practically begin behind the house, and the forest edge is not far away.
The historic town of Wissembourg in Alsace is within walking distance. In the wider vicinity, to the north, you'll find the spa town of Bad Bergzabern, as well as Landau and Speyer.
To the east are Karlsruhe and the Black Forest, and to the south are Alsace and Strasbourg.
To the west lies the Palatinate Forest, the largest contiguous forest area in Germany. Overall, Schweigen is a charming village with several excellent vintners, wineries, and wine shops, good Palatinate gastronomy, and a special charm and relaxed atmosphere. Other information Bed linen, towels, and final cleaning are included in the final price! Arrival Check-in from 4 PM // Check-out by 10 AM Description of the apartment The holiday apartment "Kleine Pause" (Little Break) is located in the former teacher's apartment on the 1st floor.
Three guests can comfortably stay in two bedrooms, a living room, a bathroom, and a kitchen.
All rooms still feature the original waxed wooden floors.
The living room is furnished with a round, extendable table, a modern sofa, and an Alsatian display cabinet.
Two windows face west, offering beautiful evening sun. The master bedroom is furnished with a double bed and an original historic wooden cabinet (formerly used for schoolbooks). The smaller bedroom, with a bed, wardrobe, and seating area, has a window facing south.
The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, including a small breakfast table with 4 chairs.
The modern bathroom features a large sink, toilet, and a (rain) shower.
Hand and bath towels are provided on the shelf. Overall, the apartment, with its high ceilings, is very quiet, bright, and airy.
Plenty of art on the walls and an Alsatian touch emphasize its cozy, well-maintained, and slightly nostalgic character. On the ground floor terrace, by the bluebell tree, you can peacefully enjoy the evening, in close proximity to the sculpture garden, where regionally renowned sculptors present a large number of sculptures in an exhibition from May to October. www.schulhaus-schweigen.com
