Charming Andalusian cottage in a traditional mountain village!
Casa Traudl, a typical village house, boasts a peaceful location in a lovingly renovated alley in the upper part of the white village of Canillas de Albaida. It's just steps away from the rustic pilgrimage chapel of Santa Ana, offering panoramic views of the village and the surrounding Sierra Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park, as well as La Maroma, the highest mountain in the province of Malaga. A short downhill walk takes you to the charming village center with its shops, bars, and restaurants, such as Bar Cerezo.
This stylishly furnished and attractively laid-out house offers approximately 110 m² of living space spread over several levels. It features a cozy living room with a TV, electric fireplace, and comfortable sofa in the entrance area, an open-plan kitchen with a dining area, and a shaded Andalusian courtyard on the lower level, perfect for hot days. The two upper floors feature two double bedrooms, a reading room with a sofa bed, two fully equipped bathrooms, and a spacious panoramic terrace with sun loungers and a large parasol.
Located in a privileged position, the house offers everything needed for a medium-sized or extended stay. It is just minutes from a network of hiking trails, a short drive from the town of Competa, and within easy reach of the tropical coast (Costa Tropical).
The terrace, in particular, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area, from the dramatic mountain landscapes of the Axarquía region to the terraced houses of Canillas de Albaida, built into the hillside. On a clear day, the Mediterranean Sea can also be seen on the horizon.
Up here, the atmosphere invites you to relax, soak up the sun, and enjoy the Andalusian way of life with family and friends.
The traditional white village of Canillas de Albaida is an almost ideal place to spend peaceful days, experience the local culture, and discover the beautiful natural surroundings.
The expansive Sierra Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama Natural Park begins practically at your doorstep and captivates visitors with its unspoiled, hilly landscapes. Numerous hiking trails, mountain bike routes, and picturesque paths through the typical white villages of the Axarquía region invite you to enjoy a variety of excursions.
The region is an attractive destination year-round, with spring and autumn offering particularly good conditions for outdoor activities in the mountains. The area is known for its Malaga wines and tropical fruits such as mangoes, and avocados are also cultivated. Numerous traditional and religious festivals showcase the local culture and customs almost throughout the year.
The cool mountain air is often refreshing, even in the summer months, especially in the evenings and at night. Inside the house, it remains pleasantly cool even in summer. Heating is available for the cooler months.
Free parking is available near the house. Throughout the mountain village (typical of the entire region), noticeable changes in elevation must be navigated on access roads and in narrow streets.
Several excellent restaurants serving regional cuisine are located in the immediate vicinity of the property. During the summer, a swimming pool with a restaurant is open to visitors in the village center. Shops for daily necessities are available in the village center and are easily accessible, while supermarkets and other excellent restaurants are just a short drive away.
Casa Traudl is registered with the Andalusian Tourism Register and adheres to established technical standards and quality requirements for holiday home rentals.
