Location & surroundings
Car park 15 metres away.
Wald is a beautiful and large village on the edge of the foothills of the Alps. It is not always, but very often above the fog, embedded in hills and forest, and even has its own alp - the Alp Scheidegg. Our house is located on the hiking trail route to the Bachtel. In summer, the area is ideal for hiking, while in winter the Oberholz and Atzmännig ski areas are less than a quarter of an hour away.
Wald has a rich industrial past. It was a centre of the textile industry and was known as the "Manchester of Switzerland". Heritage-protected factory buildings and manufacturers' villas bear witness to this period, allowing nature and culture to blend harmoniously in our village.
Lake Zurich can be reached by car in 20 minutes. There you will find Rapperswil with its lakeside promenade, castle, old town and numerous shopping facilities.
Zurich is also within easy reach. The journey to Switzerland's largest city takes 35 minutes, or 40 minutes by public transport. That's what makes this village so attractive: Both the mountains and the city centre are within easy reach.
Other sports and leisure activities: Swimming Sports facilities in the area: Fishing, Golf course, Climbing, Mountain biking, Paragliding, Cycling, Horse riding, Alpine skiing, Cross-country skiing, Squash, Tennis
Surroundings - view: mountain, garden, forrest, lawn, valley - Nearest town centre: 36,0 km - Grocery store: 800 m - restaurant: 400 m - train station: 900 m - airport: 39,0 km - motorway: 7,0 km - lake: 11,0 km - bicycle hire: 1 m
- Suitable for fishing - located in the middle of the countryside

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay in a beautiful and quiet part of Switzerland. We really enjoyed our week at the apartment and would return happily any time. We especially appreciated Christa and Nicholas our hosts who were friendly and helpful to us. Thank you!
