LOCATION
The Serenella holiday village is located on the eastern side of Lake Garda, between Bardolino and Garda. The holiday village borders the beach directly, making it ideal for families with small children. The center of Bardolino, perfect for strolling or shopping, can be reached in just a few minutes' walk.
PLACE AND SURROUNDINGS
Bardolino lies on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, and this small town is famous for its light, crisp red wine. The grapes grow in the hilly hinterland of this former fishing village. The openly built old town with its wide alleys, numerous shops, and long lakeside promenade invites guests to wander. It remains lively until the late evening hours: many shops are open until late, and beautiful restaurants, bars, and discos attract night owls from all over the region. Every Thursday, a typical weekly market takes place in Bardolino, known especially for its cheese specialties, but it's an exciting shopping experience not just for cheese lovers – bargain hunters have always gotten their money's worth here too. An excursion to the Zeni Wine Museum above Bardolino is recommended not only for wine lovers. For culture enthusiasts, there are several churches in Bardolino. For example, the Church of San Severo. This slightly asymmetrical Romanesque church from the 11th century, with frescoes and an archaic-looking crypt from the 8th century, is one of the best-preserved Romanesque buildings in the Verona area. Every year in autumn, the famous and traditional wine festival takes place in Bardolino. Winemakers from Bardolino, Garda, Lazise, and the surrounding area personally serve their fine wines at the festival and are sure to share some interesting stories from their wine cellars. Bardolino also offers good opportunities to explore the surrounding area, both near and far. In just half an hour, you can take a city trip to Verona with its Roman past, the famous balcony of Romeo and Juliet, and, of course, the world-renowned Arena with its open-air performances. To the west lie the cities of Brescia, Bergamo, and Milan, inviting you for an extensive shopping spree. Even the picturesque Venice is still easily accessible from Bardolino. A drive around Lake Garda is also always an experience. Lake Garda offers an exceptionally wide range of leisure parks, zoos, climbing parks, and swimming pools. For instance, in Castelnuovo del Garda, you'll find Gardaland, one of Italy's largest amusement parks. Families will get their money's worth here, as with over 40 attractions, from a log flume to a fairy-tale-themed world, there's something for everyone, young and old. Right next door, the Gardaland SEA LIFE Aquarium awaits to introduce visitors to the underwater world. In Movieland in Lazise, breathtaking stunt shows await visitors. Special effects provide the necessary action. The Parco Natura Viva in Bussolengo (just a few minutes' drive from the southeastern shore of the lake) is a zoo dedicated to the protection of endangered species and counts several endangered species among its residents, such as tigers, leopards, and the red panda. On a walking trail, visitors can go on a safari and get closer to animals like rhinos, hippos, and monkeys, separated only by natural barriers.
