Whistler is a charming lodge situated near the enchanting New Forest National Park and Dorset National Landscape in Oakley, Dorset.
With off-road parking for two cars, a plush freestanding bath, open-plan layout and welcoming one well-behaved dog, this delightful retreat is perfect for families or friends seeking a tranquil countryside escape.
Park up and ascend a few gentle steps to reach the wrap-around decking, where the lodge’s entrance awaits.
Step inside through the utility room—a practical space for shedding coats and sorting laundry, complete with a washing machine tucked away for convenience.
From here, the lodge opens into a flowing open-plan living area, where coordinated furnishings and soft carpet underfoot invite you to settle in. Two generous sofas face a wall-mounted TV and a built-in electric fire, creating a warm focal point for relaxed evenings.
A circular dining table offers a welcoming spot for shared meals, while the kitchen—complete with a breakfast bar and built-in gas hob—makes light work of morning fry-ups or evening feasts.
The twin bedroom, dressed in complimenting purple tones, features a wardrobe and a comfortable armchair—ideal for curling up with a book or planning the day’s adventures.
The double bedroom continues the theme with rich purple hues, a statement headboard, and doors that open directly onto the decking, letting in the morning light and fresh country air. This room also enjoys a private en-suite, where a lit-up patterned wall adds a touch of drama to the freestanding bath and walk-in shower.
A separate shower room with a large walk-in enclosure ensures ample space and comfort for all guests.
Outside, the wrap-around decking becomes an extension of the living space.
Sip your morning coffee as birdsong drifts through the trees, or unwind with a glass of wine as the sun dips behind the horizon, casting golden light across the peaceful surroundings.
During your stay at Whistler, seize the opportunity to explore the local area.
Begin by visiting the magnificent Kingston Lacy, an Italian Renaissance-style country house with an impressive art collection, stunning gardens and an exquisite Egyptian room.
Move on to the Wimborne Model Town & Gardens, perfect for miniature enthusiasts, which contains a scaled-down replica of the town in the 1950s, complete with model train set, charming garden and tea room where you can enjoy a delightful afternoon tea. Finally, spend a day by the seaside at Bournemouth Pier, where you can enjoy fun-filled family activities, from thrilling rides and arcade games to al fresco dining with captivating coastal views.
