Pescamare Apartment Polignano is an authentic, ground-floor apartment in the centre of the town. The entrance is through a shaded veranda which opens onto the street.
There is a café-style table and chairs where guests can enjoy a cup of coffee and soak up the atmosphere of this ancient town. The main living area includes an armchair, a flat-screen TV, a neat dining table and an open-plan kitchen.
The modern kitchen is well-equipped, with an induction hob, microwave, a coffee machine and fridge/freezer. Sleeping Bedroom: The stone-vaulted bedroom has a double bed and an open wardrobe. Extra: The armchair in the living room converts into a single bed. Bathroom The bathroom, which is beautifully tiled, is appointed with a glass shower, basin, bidet and WC. It is an ideal combination of history, culture and beach life. Down the coast, visitors will find the town of Monopoli (15 minutes), one of Italy’s hidden gems.
Known for its lively bars and nightlife, the town’s cathedral and the Castello di Carlo are also worth visiting. For self-catering, Polignano a Mare’s vibrant, weekly market (Thursday morning from 8.00am) is the best place to pick up delicious local produce to cook at home. Away from the coast, Alberobello, (30 minutes) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as one of the centres of Italy’s Slow Food Movement.
The town is a must-see.
It is famous for its traditional Trulli houses and excellent restaurants. The closest airport is at Bari, a 45-minute drive from the apartment.
