The Gargano National Park is a stunning promontory rich in biodiversity, featuring the Umbra Forest, Lake Varano and Lake Lesina, the Adriatic Sea and the Tremiti Islands, underwater caves and canyons, and sandy or pebble beaches.Ischitella is the perfect base for exploring all of this without having to travel far, as it is located right in the centre of the promontory.
For the more devout, there’s also the Shrine of Padre Pio and the Shrine of Monte Sant’Angelo, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, which are visited by tourists from all over the world.
The Tremiti Islands are a must-see, with departures from Rodi Garganico.
