Noci (20 minutes) is worth visiting, especially for its weekly market (Tuesday morning) where you will find the best local produce, especially the dairy products for which the town is known. Another must-see is Alberobello (25 minutes), which looks like something from a fairytale.

It is a town of Trulli - the small, conical houses only found in this part of Italy and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There is also a vibrant, weekly market (Thursday morning from 7.30am). For guests keen to go to the coast, the apartment is only 35 minutes from one of the most striking beaches in Italy, Lama Monachile, Polignano a Mare.

The white sandy beach is small but the water is clear and a great place for snorkeling. The closest airport is at Bari, a 40-minute drive from the house.
