Its dazzling white historic center, immense, culminates in the Cathedral which powerfully dominates the plain of olive trees, the coastal dunes park, and a clear, crystalline sea. Its characteristic alleys, the Piazza della Libertà, and the column of S. Oronzo majestically protect the town. Its countryside extends into the heart of the Valle d'Itria.
A few kilometers away are Ceglie Messapica, a center of tradition and food and wine, Cisternino, a village recognized among the most beautiful in Italy, and Alberobello, whose famous trulli have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1996. About 30 km to the north, we find the Archaeological Park of Egnazia, Monopoli, and Polignano a Mare, ancient fishing villages with evocative historic centers and beautiful beaches.
To the north lies Bari, the gateway to the East, while proceeding south, we first encounter the Torre Guaceto nature reserve, then Brindisi, before reaching Lecce, the capital of Baroque.
Moving west is Taranto, the heart of Magna Graecia, and finally Matera, characterized by its Sassi (cave dwellings) and a European Capital of Culture in 2019. Brindisi Airport is a 40-minute drive away, while Bari International Airport is located 100 km away.
