Stay in the Heart of Old Mussomeli
Step into a little piece of Sicily that feels as though it has been here forever.
Tucked away in the historic heart of Mussomeli, this atmospheric private studio blends the character of an old Sicilian home with the warmth and intimacy of a Moroccan riad.
Original timber beams, textured walls, exposed stone, earthy colours, handcrafted details and soft lighting give the space a wonderfully rustic, almost timeless feeling. The studio is designed as a complete little home rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
There is a comfortable sleeping area, cosy living space, television, air conditioning, a compact kitchen and dining area, and a surprisingly spacious private bathroom with shower. High speed internet makes it equally suited to a few quiet days away or a longer stay for those working remotely, while still allowing you to settle into the much slower rhythm of Sicilian life. One of the loveliest parts of the property is the private outdoor space.
Surrounded by plants and screened for privacy, it is somewhere to have breakfast in the morning sun, practise yoga, disappear into a book with a coffee, enjoy an evening drink, light the BBQ or invite a few friends over for dinner beneath the Sicilian sky. The house has deliberately retained its imperfections and history.
Old stone, timber, handmade finishes and architectural details have been incorporated rather than hidden.
Nothing is meant to feel like a conventional hotel room.
It is intimate, warm and a little eclectic, with the feeling of a tiny Sicilian house touched by the atmosphere of a Moroccan riad. And the location is rather special. Just beside Mussomeli’s Madonna dei Miracoli sanctuary, you are only a few steps from the town’s museum and a short stroll through the historic streets to Piazza Umberto I, with its cafés, bars, restaurants and evening life.
Bakeries, small shops and supermarkets are also within easy walking distance, so there is very little need for a car once you arrive. Wander out in the morning for an espresso and fresh bread.
Come home for a lazy afternoon on the terrace.
Walk back into the piazza for aperitivo as the town comes alive in the evening. For those travelling by car, free parking is available nearby.
The studio has its own private entrance, giving guests an added sense of privacy and independence. Beyond the town, Mussomeli Castle and the surrounding Sicilian countryside are within easy reach, making the studio a lovely base from which to explore this quieter and far less touristy part of the island. Ideal for a solo traveller or couple, this is somewhere for people who want more than simply accommodation.

The property is centrally located in mussomeli. Easy walk from Piazza Roma. It comes with a garage. You will need a small car to get in and out. The hosts are very accommodating and the kindest people.
There is no AC unit, but fans were provided, which was perfect.
