Fornalutx has less than 400 habitants and is ideal for those searching tranquillity and nature.

In the town centre there is a small supermarket, a pharmacy and a bank.

More shopping facilities are in Sóller (15 minutes by car). The surroundings are perfect for hiking and cycling.

A nice idea is a visit of the tiny villages in the Tramuntana, for example Sóller, Valldemossa, Sa Calobra, Deià or Banyalbufar.

There are lots of small gravel bays where you can enjoy a day on the beach in the middle of the mountains.

If you prefer sandy beaches, you can go to Puerto de Sóller.

A 40 minutes' drive takes you to the capital Palma de Mallorca, but you can also go there from Sóller with the old train and enjoy the wonderful landscape. The fireplace can not be used.
