In the heart of a sought-after Provençal village, the Van Gogh apartment (80 m2) is located on the 1st floor of an old building that was a Priory in the 18th century, then a silkworm farm (a former silk-producing establishment), and finally a manor house with its outbuildings, gradually converted into living spaces.
Nestled in the foliage of four majestic plane trees, and enhanced by a lush park (3500 m2) planted with various tree species With its diverse trees (poplar, fig, mulberry, laurel, olive, cypress, etc.) and a spacious swimming pool, this characterful residence, steeped in history, exudes profound serenity. Completely renovated in 2022, the Van Gogh apartment offers high-quality amenities: featuring elegant and refined decor, a brand-new and fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub opening onto a flower garden, tall double-glazed windows, pleasant parquet flooring, and subtle wall colours, the apartment can accommodate 5 people. Bright and spacious, its four tall pointed-arch windows offer a spectacular view of the park's plane trees and the swimming pool, partially hidden by greenery. To the north, three windows overlook gardens and a beautiful bed of oleanders. It comprises five rooms: two bedrooms, a master suite (bedroom and office), a living room opening onto a dining room with an American-style kitchen, a bathroom with a bathtub, and a separate toilet. On the same floor, it features a private terrace (facing south, east, and northwest) surrounded by beautiful trees: a wonderful spot for breakfasts, late afternoon reading, aperitifs and dinners, and also for watching splendid sunsets. It is equipped with a parasol, sun loungers, and a garden table seating six. Access to the terrace via the stairs is secured by a gate on the upper floor. Access to the property is secured by a gate with a code and a private communal parking area. Located 100 metres on foot from the village centre, Le Prieuré offers easy access to all shops (Super U supermarket, organic supermarket, pharmacy, 4 restaurants, bookshop/newsagent, banks, ATM, garage...). Located at the foot of the Montagnette, equidistant (9 km) between Avignon and Saint-Rémy de Provence (Les Alpilles), the Priory was once dependant on the Abbey of Saint-Michel de Frigolet and welcomed pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. After the French Revolution, it was transformed into a silkworm farm, then in the mid-20th century, it became a manor house. A haven of peace in the heart of authentic, rural Provence, dotted with sought-after cultural sites within a 1 to 50 km radius, the list of which cannot be exhaustive here: Graveson with the Auguste Chabaud Museum, Avignon (Theatre Festival, Palais des Papes), Saint Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence, Arles and its artistic and photographic gatherings, the Camargue, its wild flora and fauna, its salt marshes, its herds of bulls and its beaches, Nîmes and its famous feria, Orange and Aix-en-Provence for opera, La Roque d'Anthéron for classical music, Gordes, the Luberon, the ochre quarries in Roussillon, Marseille and its calanques...
Baby equipment provided (high chair and travel cot, available on request).
