Cicero is a classic type size in lead and wood type.
A Cicero thus describes the average font size.
Until the end of commercial book printing in the late 20th century, the unit of measurement Cicero was a universally valid typesetting measure. Old Printing House Although the machines are no longer running in the former Otto Freund printing house at Poststraße 3 today, this place is a home for the high art of the printing trade.
Qualities that have survived the printing business and are reflected in the apartments at the Alte Druckerei.
We chose the names of the apartments in relation to the printing trade. We, siblings Othild Hesse and Claudia Heise, decided after the death of our parents and the closure of the Otto Freund printing company, which had been in operation for 145 years, to give our parental home a new shine.
For us, the name of the new residential and commercial building was quickly decided: Alte Druckerei. At the end of October 2019, the demolition of the aging building began, which evoked many childhood memories in us. Thus, step by step, the new residential and commercial building named Alte Druckerei was created. Our new holiday apartments, built with attention to detail, are centrally located on the island with a view of the pedestrian zone and the silhouette of Norderney.
The building has triple glazing, so you can enjoy your holiday in peace.
The elevator conveniently takes you to the upper floors. You can reach restaurants, cafes, and shops immediately.
The spa park, spa theater, and Conversation House with its diverse cultural offerings, the thalasso spa, Weststrand beach, and the promenade can be reached in a few minutes.
To the east of the island by e-bike? Bike rentals are located in the immediate vicinity.
Or start a jogging/walking round right outside your front door.
