Our Holidu reviews have a rating score between 1 and 10, with 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. The overall rating score of a property is based on the sum of the rating scores we get for the property and divided by the number of reviews received.

Guests rate their overall stay and can give separate subscores for categories, e.g. location, cleanliness, description, and price. Travelers may also be asked for additional feedback regarding their stay or type of vacation and can also give more context to a review with written text.

Guests can review an accommodation that they booked through our platform after their stay. You can choose to submit the review with your first name and the initial of the last name or stay anonymous. If you submitted a review via a partner website their review terms and conditions apply.

To edit or delete a review you’ve already submitted via Holidu, please contact our Customer Service team.

What kind of reviews do we display?

As a search engine, we help travelers to compare and find the best vacation homes for their needs. To get even more context about a property we also show external reviews we receive from our partners and other well-known travel websites. The rating of properties contains all review information collected via Holidu and from our partner websites for the same property.

We display reviews from partner websites in different ways, e.g.:

as an individual rating score
an aggregated rating score consisting of multiple ratings from travelers
with further content and/ or further reviewer information (such as travel party of the reviewer, country of residence of the reviewer)

By default, ratings are sorted by the date of the booking and additional criteria, such as whether they contain additional text. Individual reviews are displayed before aggregated review sources. Additional sorting options may be available (by score by type of traveler, etc.).

To make sure properties are fairly evaluated - we display negative reviews under a certain threshold only if at least two reviews are available for the property.

Translations disclaimer

The reviews we display may be translated from another source language. For this purpose, we use Deepl. Deepl disclaims all warranties related to the translations, express or implied, including any warranties of accuracy, reliability, and any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We also disclaim corresponding warranties related to those translations insofar as this is legally permissible.

Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Holidu wants to give travelers a comprehensive picture of the accommodation they are looking at. Thus, it is our goal to show every opinion - regardless of the sentiment and without limiting expression or strong opinions. All reviews must be given conscientiously and truthfully. We won’t, therefore, display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Promotion of illegal activities
Politically or religiously sensitive comments
Promotional content
Website links
Personal or sensitive information (e.g. full host names, emails, phone numbers, credit card information)
Profanity, sexual content, hate speech, discriminatory statements, threats, or references to violence
Spam and fake content
Impersonation (i.e. where the author claims to be someone else)

The reviews we display for our accommodations should be relevant to other travelers. This means that they should be travel-related and help others to make better decisions.

Any content that looks like it could be in violation of our terms and conditions can be reported to our Customer Service Team for further investigation. We may also allow partners and hosts to reply to a review.

The review content should be original and unbiased coming directly from the guest. We do not tolerate hosts and partners posting on behalf of guests or offering incentives in exchange for reviews.

The opinions expressed in the reviews are those of Holidu customers and customers of partner websites and not those of Holidu. Holidu accepts no responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Holidu is a distributor (without any obligation to review) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
