Once the stronghold of the powerful Castellane family, the château has stood through centuries of eventful history.
Religious wars, family feuds, love stories, duels, and sieges still echo within its remarkable walls.
The château sits next to the village square, its name derived from the Roman goddess Alemona.
Surrounded by greenery, it remains one of the rare and best-preserved examples of Louis XII style in Haute-Provence.
Originally built by the Castellane family (1218–1718), then home to the Varages (1718–1839) and Ripert-Montclar (1839–1936) families, it later hosted a summer camp (1946–1970) before returning to private ownership.
Today, the château is lived in year-round, and the owners look forward to welcoming you. Electricity is billed according to usage, with a reasonable amount included in the stay.
Any excess may incur additional charges.
