Welcome to the self-catering hut! You can expect:
4-room hut on 2 floors, approx. 130 m², 3 bedrooms (1st floor – accessible via an external staircase), 1 bathroom, kitchen, living room, collection of games, collection of books, only A1 network reception at isolated points outside the hut, parking for 2 to 3 cars, covered furnished terrace, deck chairs, umbrella, brick barbecue, fire pit, well bucket, pond, llama enclosure, llama trekking on request and for a fee, wood storage.
Dogs are welcome, but absolute leash requirement applies (hunting ground)! A pasture for llamas What do you think of when planning your farm getaway? Of course, little kittens and chickens, cows and perhaps sheep. Be excited about what awaits you here in Molln, in the Kalkalpen National Park! In the midst of the scenic idyll, between lush meadows and dense forests, lies the former "Alpe im Rauschertal" from 1876. In 2013, the current owners rolled up their sleeves and breathed new life into the small farm with great love for authenticity. The sloping fields presented particular challenges for the farmers.
Heavy mowing equipment would have been required for cultivation.
However, since the sustainable approach played an important role on the farm, the family opted for an unconventional way of field work. Holiday time with real llamas With employees from the Andes – Pedro, Fido, Leo, Nico, Felix, and a few others – pasture maintenance is a true joy and ease.
These curious and intelligent companions will be your immediate neighbors during your time on the alpine pasture.
It's so much fun to watch them and stroke their fluffy fur. They would love to accompany you on a hike with llama guide Sarah. There's always something to do on the farm! The owners are occasionally on the grounds to care for the animals and do their farm work.
For this purpose, they also stay in their apartment in the outbuilding from time to time.
If time permits, they are also happy to show the children how to care for and pamper a llama. Next to the llama stables with an outdoor enclosure is the cozy alpine hut with a wide panoramic view of the Sengsengebirge mountains. From the furnished, covered terrace, you have the best view of the picturesque grounds with: a large garden, a well with a refreshing splash, the brick barbecue and the fire pit. Along the dirt path, you reach the ice-cold pond with its own jetty and water wheel.
It is fed by the adjacent small mountain streams.
The splashing of the water is incredibly calming.
Dear parents, the pond is not designated as a swimming pond.
You know, water still has a magical attraction for the little ones.
Therefore, our recommendation in any case: Always keep a watchful eye and insist on armbands. Authentic & cozy – your fully self-sufficient alpine hut The cozy little house of Rauschertal has a bit of everything: A bit of a rustic alpine hut. This is evidenced by the old, dark wooden beams on the ceilings and the historically rich stable doors.
The typical regional wood-burning stove in the kitchen for cooking and heating is also typical of the hut style. A bit of an idyllic, sustainable country house with modern elements.
The new kitchen fulfills all self-catering wishes, and in the spacious bathroom, the private waterworks ensure running water.
Even the electricity is generated by your own power plant, and the hot water by solar energy. The bedrooms on the upper floor, directly under the roof, are newly renovated and equipped with a lot of light wood.
You reach the rooms via a separate external staircase.
Please be aware that the roof slopes and wooden beams might not wake you too quickly from your deep sleep, should you need to go out at night. This place is a paradise for young and old explorers. Especially in the early morning or after sunset, you can observe deer, foxes, rabbits, and many more.
At this time, they come particularly close to the hut. Start your hiking and mountain biking tours directly from your doorstep to Windischgarsten and the Pyhrn Priel region.
Be inspired by the national park forests about 14 km away.
They are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
The town of Molln, about 12 km away, became widely known 100 years ago due to a dramatic poaching story that was later filmed.
Today, it invites you to stroll and browse. Tip: Try your musical skills with a "Maultrommel" (jaw harp). This is a very peculiar musical instrument that originated in the region around Molln.
It is a so-called "pocket instrument," which is said to have an eroticizing effect.
