From this charming, bright, and comfortable cottage, ideal for a couple, you'll enjoy all the conveniences of modern life—shops and services are less than 100 meters away—and just a few hundred steps will take you into the streets and alleyways that have been passed down since the Middle Ages.
From the doorstep, sipping your coffee, you'll observe the medieval town, spot the Clock Gate, glimpse the Painted Portal, and be captivated by the Barbican.
As you stand still, you'll embark on a magnificent journey through time. During your stay, a multitude of possibilities await you. You can leave the car behind and set off on one of the many hikes that the cottage can serve as a starting point, or you can take advantage of its excellent location to explore the surrounding area.
Within a 25 km radius, you'll be spoiled for choice: from the characteristic hilltop bastides surrounding the Grésigne forest to the episcopal city of Albi, dominated by its brick cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and from the banks of the Cérou River to the picturesque Aveyron gorges, from the nearby Gaillac vineyards to charming villages, churches, lakes, caves, castles... and then, whenever you like, return to the city, lose yourself in its streets, and discover its architectural and artistic treasures. The Au Grain de Sel gîte is located at the foot of the medieval city, next to the owners' home, with a small enclosed garden. On the ground floor, there is a large, bright living room and a fully equipped kitchenette. Upstairs on the mezzanine (via a steep staircase): a double bed (140x190cm) and a bathroom with shower, sink, and toilet. Air conditioning enhances the comfort of the cottage. The washing machine is located in an adjoining storage room. The owners will provide you with a free parking permit allowing you to park in front of the cottage and throughout the town of Cordes-sur-Ciel. Toilets are not provided; please remember to bring your own.

Brilliant accommodation - very well equipped and comfortable. Very friendly & helpful hosts, especially in the recent heat wave! Provided addiional fan to assist the air conditioning. Great village location, good for visiting wide range of attractive locations. Highly Recommended.

Le gîte est idéalement situé pour visiter Cordes-sur-Ciel et sa région. Les propriétaires sont très sympathiques et n'hésitent pas à échanger sur les lieux à visiter et les activités à faire. Merci à eux de nous avoir permis de prolonger le séjour pour participer à la fête du grand fauconnier.
