Casa Oso Oakhurst is an excellent gathering place for family and friends in the Sierra Nevada, only 20 minutes from the south gates of Yosemite National Park.
This private modern house provides breathtaking views from an enormous outdoor living area, which includes a private spa.
This jewel sits on 5 acres near the thriving mountain city of Oakhurst, with easy access to the park, but also to charming Bass Lake with water attractions and a beach. House has fast internet and a free EV charger.
This freshly renovated, one-story house creates a beautiful atmosphere with spacious and luxurious common areas, an electric fireplace, and the spa. Living Room: - High ceilings create an open and inviting space. - Diverse seating arrangements for comfort and socializing. - Enjoy mountain views and the warmth of the fireplace. - Large flat-screen TV for movie nights. - Perfect for board game tournaments. Bedrooms: - Three bedrooms furnished with attention to detail. - Each bedroom equipped with a king-size bed and a bench or chair. - Master bedroom has direct private access to the patio and spa area. - Master includes its own bathroom with a shower and an additional sleeping ottoman available upon request. - Up to 2 baby cribs can be provided for the master upon request. - Two smaller bedrooms share a common bathroom with a tub. Amenities: - Access to a washer and dryer for convenience. - Enjoy fun with a ping-pong table. - Fast internet for work or leisure. - Free EV charger available for guests. The charging is free. Trash pick-ups are done on Monday and Thursday.
Landscaping maintenance happens every other Wednesday. The area in general requires a car for commute. Close-by country roads have little traffic, so they can be used for walking, jogging, biking or horseback riding. Host lives in the neighborhood and if needed can be available.
Best way to communicate is by sending Airbnb messages. Visitors must have their own vehicle transportation. The home is located on five secluded acres only 20 minutes from the Yosemite National Park South Gate Entrance. Visitors will have a 1.5 hr drive to Yosemite Valley. The Mariposa Grove of towering Giant Sequoias is a 20 minute drive. Bass Lake recreational area is 15 minutes from the home. Oakhurst is a 15-minute drive.
Mariposa is 35 minutes away. While being in a peaceful, remote location, guests will have excellent access to the surrounding area and attractions for a wide variety of activities.
Outdoor options include hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, water sports, skydiving, canoeing & kayaking, ATV adventures, and more.
In the towns of Oakhurst and Mariposa, guests can grocery shop and take their pick from a range of restaurants.
Experience the throwback to the gold rush and Wild West era, and enjoy local attractions like the Mineralogy Museum or a ride on a steam engine train. The international attraction of Yosemite National Park has 759,620 acres to enjoy (of which nearly 95% is designated wilderness), ranging from rock faces to rushing rivers & waterfalls to Giant Sequoia groves. All of the soundings of Yosemite National Park, including urban areas, have the component of wildlife.
Some of the local animals that can be observed on a daily basis include deer, turkeys, squirrels, hawks, and rabbits.
Not as common animals to see but living in the area are coyotes, bears, mountain lions, raccoons, opossum, skunk, rattlesnakes, tarantulas, and scorpions.
Poison oak and poison ivy are also elements of local flora. To get around the neighborhood and between Oakhurst, Mariposa and Yosemite National Park you will need a car.
There is no public transportation or taxi transportation in the area that can replace car transportation and getting to the house. Yosemite National Park South Gate Entrance in Fish Camp is 20 min drive from Casa Oso at Lonesome Oak.
Travel times get longer during weekend rush hours and holidays. Please use a paved road to access the house during rain and snow.
A fully paved road runs through the Oakhurst and Yosemite Forks.
The road to the house through Ahwahnee is not fully paved. The property is not fenced and is located in a secluded place.
