You want to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life?




Surrounded by nature, this cottage is very traditional and located in the heart of the Natural Park of Aracena and Picos de Aroche, one of the largest forests in the south of the Peninsula, with a mixture of holm oaks, cork oaks, chestnut trees... There is a pool for cooling off in summer and the shady porch is ideal for a pleasant siesta.








Situation and exterior



This is an old farmhouse, located near Galaroza (1 km), with access via a 500m country lane. It is set within a beautiful 15 hectare estate where the friendly owners, José and Concha, also live, both houses are set well apart to ensure privacy for everyone. Watered by a stream, here they alternate the cultivation of walnut and chestnut trees, within a farm with the seal of organic farming. All this is complemented by farm activities, such as looking after the animals (sheep, chickens, rabbits, etc.), growing vegetables, etc. There is a small private swimming pool of 4 m x 2.5 m for cooling off in summer.



There are many activities available in the area: hiking, horse riding, an excursion to Portugal or discovering the local gastronomy. The Sierra de Aracena is famous for its excellent acorn-fed hams, but also attracts lovers of wild mushrooms, as in season you can find a great variety of them.










Interior and layout



The house has been restored following the traditional construction systems of the area, which wisely combine stone and chestnut wood. It is above all a friendly little house where one feels directly at home. The interior is decorated in a rustic style, typical of the area. On the ground floor there is a pleasant living/dining room with a fireplace, painted in pastel tones, and with terracotta tiles on the floor. Rocking chairs accentuate the rustic style. The kitchen is American style with a 3-ring gas hob, oven, fridge and washing machine. On the first floor there is a bedroom with double bed and another semi-open bedroom, ideal for a family with small children. The bathroom is something special, decorated in Andalusian tiles in traditional colours. It has a bath, shower and washbasin.
