This charming country house is located just a short stroll from Frigiliana, where you will find numerous restaurants, tapas bars and shops. However, its location guarantees tranquillity amidst olive and avocado trees, and it enjoys total privacy. The interior of this cortijo has been built in Andalusian style: thick walls, wooden beamed ceilings, and is decorated in earth, ochre and blue tones - contemporary comfort... with traditional rustic charm.








Situation and exteriors



Situated near the historic village of Frigiliana, this beautiful 3-bedroom traditional country house is surrounded by lush avocado orchards, giving this enchanting location a Hansel and Gretel feel. The cortijo is in a secluded location and yet only a 5 minute walk to the village making it the ideal place for those looking for a country retreat but with easy access to all village amenities.

Situated on the estate's own land, this cortijo offers pleasant summer evenings for alfresco dining by the private pool overlooking Frigiliana. A large shaded terrace with garden furniture in front of the house provides a comfortable area for al fresco dining. Adjacent to the house is a small summer kitchen with a built-in barbecue and a second dining area with stylish teak furniture.



The pool is large (4 m x 7.5 m long and 1 m x 1.5 m deep) with a lawned area and a lovely sun terrace ─ with sun loungers for sunbathing and relaxing. The accommodation is also very well located for exploring the impressive Moorish heritage of the Andalusian cities of Granada, Seville and Cordoba, among others. Nerja and its beaches are a 10 minute drive away.







Interior and layout




The house dates back to the early 20th century and originally served as a stable for the mules needed to work in the fields. The current owners, José Manuel and Pilar, inherited it and it was in 2006 when they completely refurbished it following, with good taste and care, the architectural lines of typical Andalusian style. Thick walls, wooden beamed ceilings, terracotta floors and colourful tiles create a pleasant atmosphere. On the ground floor is the living room open to the dining room with a large sofa, wood burning cooker and satellite TV. The kitchen is small but well equipped, with a 4-ring ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The washing machine is outside. There is a double bedroom on this floor and a shower room with WC and washbasin.



On the first floor there are two romantic double bedrooms (with 2 beds each) with wooden ceilings and large wardrobes. The bathroom on this floor is equipped with a whirlpool bath, WC and washbasin.
