In Mazamet, in the Négrin district, this single-storey gîte welcomes you at the foot of the Montagne Noire. Here, the spirit of a traditional village lingers, in a peaceful and authentic setting.
Once the world capital of wool pulling, Mazamet has successfully reinvented itself while preserving its industrial heritage. Urban trails bring to life the era of grand townhouses and leatherworking, while the Maison des Mémoires invites you to explore the story of Catharism, which began in this very region.
Today, the town attracts lovers of hiking and outdoor sports: from the suspension footbridge over the Arnette valley, to forest trails, the Lac des Montagnès, and the climb up the mythical Pic de Nore, the area is full of options for nature lovers.
Right next to the gîte, the Passa Païs greenway takes you on foot or by bike all the way to Hérault, and the new public swimming pool is perfect for cooling off with family.
This renovated family house is perfect for a stay with up to 4 people. The entrance is via a small enclosed courtyard, which also serves as a terrace for outdoor meals with a view of the garden.
Inside, a hallway leads to a bedroom with a 140x190 bed, a shower room, and a separate toilet. A small corridor takes you to a second bedroom (also 140x190 bed), and to the main living space, filled with light thanks to its bay window facing the courtyard. It features a lounge area with TV and a fully equipped kitchen.
An indoor staircase (not in use) is a nod to the house's original layout.
A cool basement room is available for storing bikes or gear, and includes a WC and an additional basic shower room.
Opposite the house, a small raised garden, accessed via a few steps, is furnished with sun loungers for relaxing. A private garage is also provided.
Electricity and heating are billed separately (meter reading). Sheets and towels are not provided.
