THE PROPERTY:
A pretty holiday home with walled flower garden, set in a rural Sussex location near to Pulborough, Petworth and the South Downs. French doors open into the sitting room, with a sofa facing out to the garden and a large skylight for stargazing. To one side is the bedroom with king size (5ft) bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bookshelves, and to the other side a bathroom with shower over bath. Next to the sitting room is the dining space, and a well-equipped kitchen. Library Cottage is listed here by Inspire Stays dot com, the leading independent Sussex holiday specialists. Visit us direct for full info about this home.
Books adorn this cottage with a wide selection of literature, ready for some R&R amongst the flowers. Beyond your private garden you are also welcome to access over an acre of the owners’ own beautiful grounds, including a carefully and naturally nurtured pond.
LOCAL AREA:
Gay Street is a tiny hamlet, yet home to three acclaimed vineyards and Wine Estates. Nutbourne, Nyetimber and Ambriel Sparkling are all within walking distance (ticketed open days only at Nyetimber), and there are no less than 10 quality vineyards within 10 miles. Beer and ale enthusiasts can enjoy Hepworth and Greyhound Breweries both within 3 miles. Stock up on local produce at Dyke Farm Shop a mile away, and there is also a large Sainsbury’s and Tesco at Pulborough. Further afield there is an abundance of places to visit including Petworth, Arundel and the picturesque South Downs.

Library Cottage is the perfect hideaway, tucked away in the depths of West Sussex. This was our second visit and it was just like home from home with a warm welcome from our hosts. The scenery on the South Downs is stunning and the seaside resorts have their own traditional attractions like the pier at Eastbourne and holiday rock at Bognor. All in all, a delightful week.
