Why visit Calasetta:
The territory of Calasetta offers numerous beaches of outstanding beauty. The coast of Calasetta is steep and rocky, sandy and low in the west to the north east. The coastline has suffered three major fractures that correspond to three beautiful beaches: Spiaggia Grande, Salina and Sottotorre. Of incomparable beauty the presence of a rocky bastion in the west that extends up to depths of 10 m and contributing to the creation of caves and rocks to great effect. One of the most striking examples of the work of the Sea is undoubtedly 'The nest of sparrows', a couple of rocks emerging from the sea where many birds take refuge.

The main function of the tower was to spot the Saracen vessels.

One of these is the feast of St. John the Baptist, which alternates rites of pagan rituals and sacred that involves the whole population in dancing and singing in the night illuminated by bonfires.
