Summary:

Wake up to snow-capped Alps from a private 16m² balcony, then stroll 5 minutes along the river to Kapellbrücke. On the 6th floor with elevator access, this 75m² apartment fits up to 5 across two king bedrooms. Dolce Gusto coffee, hotel-grade linens, and a 100% response rate from your host.

Shared laundry in-building. Aldi and Coop within walking distance. No air conditioning (standard in Switzerland) — fans and shutters keep it comfortable.

The Space:

Living Area

The open-plan living and dining area is the heart of the apartment — featuring a grey sofa, a dining table for up to 6, and a 4K Smart TV with Netflix. Large windows bring in natural light throughout the day. Step onto the balcony and enjoy 16m² of private outdoor space with the Alps on the horizon and Lucerne’s rooftops below.

The Balcony

This is what guests talk about most. Running the full width of the apartment, the 16m² balcony has seating for 4 and unobstructed views of the snow-capped Alps. Best enjoyed at sunrise with a Dolce Gusto coffee in hand.

Bedrooms

Two separate bedrooms are located on opposite ends of the apartment, with the living area in between — a layout that provides added privacy for couples and families. Bedroom 1 features a double bed and a double sofa bed. Bedroom 2 features a king-size bed. All beds are fitted with hotel-grade linens and window shutters to block out light.

Kitchen

Fully equipped for self-catering: oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, and a Dolce Gusto coffee system with capsules provided. There’s enough counter space to cook a proper meal. A bakery one minute away is perfect for an easy breakfast.

Bathroom

One full bathroom with a walk-in shower, frequently highlighted in guest reviews. Hot water is reliable with good pressure throughout the day.

For Groups

A sofa bed in the living area accommodates a 5th guest. Shared building laundry (washer and dryer) is available — ideal for stays of 3 nights or more. A schedule applies; your host will share details upon arrival.

Lucerne’s Old Town, Kapellbrücke, the lake, and the SBB station are all within about a 10-minute walk. This is a base, not a retreat — ideal if you plan to explore during the day and return to a comfortable apartment.

Reserve early — Lucerne summer dates fill quickly.

Guest Access:

The entire 75m² apartment is yours. Self check-in via lockbox, with access codes sent 48 hours before arrival. The building elevator reaches the 6th floor; please note it accommodates one guest with luggage per trip. Paid parking is available directly across the street.

The Neighborhood:

Hirschengraben is in the centre of Lucerne’s most walkable district. Kapellbrücke and the Old Town are about a 5-minute walk away. The SBB station is 800 metres along the river — about a 10-minute walk — or just 1 minute to the bus stop directly outside the building.

At street level, Aldi and Coop are both within a 3–5 minute walk, along with an Asian grocery next door. A bakery one minute away is an easy first stop in the morning. Multiple restaurants and cafés are within a 2–3 minute walk.

For day trips: Rigi and Pilatus by cogwheel or cable car; Interlaken by SBB (approx. 2 hours); Zürich by direct train (about 45 minutes).

Getting Around:

Bus stop directly outside the building. SBB Lucerne station is 800m away, about a 10-minute walk along the river. Paid parking is available at Parkhaus Kesselturm directly across the street. Zürich Airport (ZRH) is about 60 minutes by car or via a direct SBB connection.

Other Things to Note:

What guests love most:

• Location — 800m from Lucerne train station along the river; about a 5-minute walk to Kapellbrücke and the Old Town

• The balcony — 16m² with a full Alps panorama and seating for 4

• Host reliability — highly responsive, 8 years of hosting experience, professionally managed by Airhosted GmbH

What to know before you book:

• No air conditioning — standard across Swiss properties. Window shutters and fans are provided. Guests visiting in July–August who require cooler temperatures should take note

• Hirschengraben is a main road — the 6th-floor elevation helps reduce street noise. Keeping the windows closed minimizes noise further

Additional notes:

• Shared laundry (washer and dryer) in the building’s common area; a schedule applies

• A noise monitor is installed in the property to help maintain a calm environment for guests and neighbours

• Minimum stay: 2 nights

• City tax (Kurtaxe) and a security deposit may be charged separately, depending on the booking platform

• Professionally managed by Airhosted GmbH

Interaction with Guests:

It is a self checkin and we make it as easy as possible for you to get into the apartment. You will get all relevant information a few days before your checkin and you can contact me any time via Airbnb during daytime until the evening :-) Please note that we have a guest form to be filled out, the same way as you have it in hotels too. This can be done easily upfront on the PC. As this apartment is in a residentual area with neighbors, quiet times are needed after 10 PM at night (room level noise after that time). Therefor we have a noise alert device installed that notifies the host in case it should get too loud.

The apartment was very clean and well located in an area within easy walking around town. It is a 10 minute walk from the train station and less to many restaurants. Very safe area and the outdoor balcony was very nice in the evenings. It is a fairly quiet street at night as we slept with the windows slightly open without any issues. A great place to stay.

Great location. Across street from entrance towards Old Town. Bakery and nice laundromat downstairs a hop away. One 5 min bus ride away from train station. (Rolling suitcases over cobblestones not recommended.) Interior as pictured. TV only has Netflix. Kitchen small but has everything. You will nee...

This apartment was in a great location to the city center and was perfect for our three nights in Lucerne. The pictures were accurate to the listing and the apartment was bigger than we thought it might be which was great! Those stairs are no joke but two elevators that worked just fine! Would st...
