Look no more! The villa is not only beautiful but it is above the norm.
The whole apartment has been completely renovated recently, offering bright freshly painted rooms, full of light and provencal features. We can offer you not only excellent comfort, security and privacy, but can share our lovely gardens and terraces which are covered with ancient, gnarled olive trees, mediterranean flowers and orange and lemon trees.
Personally, you would have access to a beautiful private garden with uninterrupted fabulous views down the river valley to the sea. In the winter months you can access a sparkling heated pool under a blue sky.
It is heated between 1 April and 1st June and between 20th September and the end of October.
Temperatures are so good in this part of France all year round that you can dine out at midday under a warm sun with light clothing. We look forward to welcoming you into our little bit of paradise which has been ours for 26 years since leaving the cold, damp weather in England. To summarise: * The apartment is in fact, half of the villa and there are no other units for rental on the property.
It is completely private. * Spacious architect designed apartment of 100m2 facing south and all rooms on one level * it is the east wing of the stone built villa facing east and south. * private balconies face south, overlooking the Var Valley and its winding river, to the sea * air conditioned main bedroom with top quality new mattresses and bedding.
Colonial fans elsewhere. All principal rooms are air conditioned. French windows open onto a private balcony overlooking the hills, river and the sea beyond. * Luxury Egyptian cotton linen and towels including pool towels.
Fluffy bathrobes and free toiletries.
All baby linen included, plus cot and high chair. * full library of books for all tastes.
Games. * free Wifi with router so that you can still use your internet around the pool. * satelite TV with English and French programs on flat plasma screen.
BBC 1 and 2, ITV, sports included.
Apple Box for films and more choices of programmes. (Bring your Apple card and password to access extra programmes). * High, spacious, beamed sitting room offering cool rooms in the summer heat, with ancient glazed terracotta tiled floors and colonial ceiling fans.
Reversible air conditioning/heating wall unit.

Large french windows to private balcony with armchairs and table, overlooking the whole of the valley 250m below.

Door leading to a beautiful private terrace with BBQ, table and chairs and bougainvillea climbing the surrounding walls.

Floodlit lighting under the ancient olive trees. * private terraces with olive and lemon trees are accessible from either the kitchen, sitting room, or main bedroom.
Pick your own seasonal fruit. * Private BBQ on apartment's terrace or principle BBQ adjacent to the pool.
Large sun umbrellas and outdoor furniture, both on the private terrace and also adjacent to the heated pool 8x5 metres, and 2.5m deep at one end and 1.50m at shallow end.
Summer kitchen with long table and chairs, set into the natural rocks. Spotlighting under all the trees, around the pool and even in the pool for midnight bathing creating a romantic atmosphere. (Please note- the pool is not heated in the summer months of June, July and August.
The hot summer sun does all the work!) Lots of sun loungers and shade under the olive trees.
Large bar, fridge and BBQ with chimney.
Bar stools. * complete serenity- very private gardens, not overlooked. * bougainvillea, jasmine, fig, lemon,orange, and olive trees; terraces covered with dry stone walls and flowers.
You can pick your own fruit in season. * privacy and security with electric gates to secure parking within the grounds. The apartment is not recommended nor suitable for handicapped people, unfortunately, as access is on a lower level than the villa’s main entrance ; the land being terraced.
It has 11 stone steps down to your private terrace and entrance to the apartment which restricts a wheelchair being used.
There is, however, for those fit enough, a secure handrail to help you descend. * designed for the discerning traveller seeking more than simply a holiday home. it was created for peace and comfort; a place of serenity to relax and savour the beauty of its surroundings to escape the frantic pace on the seafront in the summer months. Also, you are central for all touring either in the mountains or on the coastline.
That is why we chose to live here.
All major towns on the Cote d’Azur are nearby offering many choices of great restaurants, and not all are hugely expensive, especially in the surrounding villages nestling in the Alpes.

For art lovers, you are spoilt for choice.
Many of the most famous artists such as Renoir, Matisse, Chagall, Picasso, Van Gogh, and Cezanne, spent time here in our part of France.
You will see their work everywhere and recognise the scenes they painted.
Also, renowned walking trails cross through Gattieres such as the GR51.
Cyclists would love the routes frequented by many French clubs.
The famous Iron Man even passes by our doorstep! Also the Tour de France.
The scenery is really spectacular. * Children, babies, young or old will find everything here at Le Contadour.

A beautiful location with stunning views. The property was lovely with lots of charm and character. It was also well equipped with everything we needed and was very comfortable. The swimming pool was perfect and a great place to relax with the family. Liz and Quintin were great hosts and made the whole experience welcoming and easy. Thank you.

Had a delightful stay, Liz and Quentin made us feel very welcome and were very knowledgeable of the local area. The property was lovely with a stunning view and the pool was much enjoyed, particularly by our daughter. Gattières is a lovely village with all the amenities that may be needed. Thank you for hosting our memorable trip.

The flat is even better than in the picture. Well located, supermarket and bakery at a walk king distance and only 20 minutes away of nice. Liz and Quentin were really helpful in providing guidance.
