L'Horto is a former family market garden farm acquired around 1920.
Its location is ideal for visiting Carcassonne on foot: the Canal du Midi, the Cité de Carcassonne, the Bastide Saint-Louis (city center), with all its shops and entertainment, as well as the banks of the Aude river for beautiful walks or bike rides.
To cool off during the warm season, a water park with a swimming pool and a spa area is just a 3-minute walk away. Numerous attractions are available nearby: the Montagne Noire to discover the ingenious water supply system of the Canal du Midi, the book village of Montolieu, Castelnaudary and its cassoulet, Limoux and its sparkling wines, the Cathar castles like Saissac and Lastours, the dinosaur museum of Espéraza, the sea is less than an hour away, Corbières and Minervois are nearby. You will enjoy a "countryside" stay while being in Carcassonne.
The 4000 m² tree-lined garden is accessible to you with sheep, chickens, miniature pigs, dogs, and cats.

The gite was really lovely. It was a delight to stay there and our hosts were especially nice. Very close to everything you need all within a short walk. A lovely stroll along the river brings you to the beautiful historic cite. Highly recommend and when you meet Paco the piglet you will fall in love.
