Villa Pastis and its two holiday rentals are ideally located on the hills above Barjac, a Renaissance town, nestled in a peaceful, secluded green setting with an unobstructed view of the valley and the Cévennes. Both cottages offer a high level of comfort and feature a private terrace leading to the pool, which is situated between the two cottages and offers a view of the sunsets. It is an inspiring place perfect for relaxation, where the owners live year-round.
The red cottage is a 75 m² house equipped for 4 people.
On one level with no steps, it features a very large living room with a high-quality sofa bed (140 cm), a TV, and Wi-Fi; a large bedroom with a double bed (160 cm); and a bathroom with a walk-in shower, double sinks, and a toilet. The open-concept kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a hob, an oven, a microwave, and a dishwasher. All rooms are air-conditioned. The large floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room and bedroom open onto the spacious private terrace, which is equipped with a plancha grill and outdoor furniture. We provide high-quality bed linens and towels. Other household items, particularly in the kitchen, are provided to make your stay more comfortable.
Having a car is recommended to fully enjoy the wide range of activities and places to visit in the region. A parking space is provided on the property.
However, a car is not absolutely necessary. The lavender fields and vineyards are directly accessible right outside the house. Many natural sites can be explored directly from Villa Pastis. Barjac is just 1.5 km downhill. It takes about 15 minutes to walk there along a path. This path is not lit at night. The walk back uphill takes only about 20 minutes. From Barjac, four buses a day run direct to Avignon during the high season. This same route also serves Vallon Pont d’Arc in the opposite direction.
Barjac is an ideal base for exploring the Ardèche to the north, the majestic Rhône to the east as it flows through Provence, or the Mediterranean to the south.
Here are a few points of interest along with estimated driving times:
- Vallon Pont d’Arc - 15 min
- Aven d’Orgnac - 11 min
- Chauvet Cave - 25 min
- Uzès – 43 min
- Pont du Gard – 57 min –
- Avignon – 1 hr 7 min
- Gordes (Le Luberon) – 1 hr 41 min
- Nîmes – 1 hr 10 min
- Mediterranean beaches at La Grande-Motte – 1 hr 45 min
Additional notes
Access to the pool and other facilities is reserved for guests and shared with the owners. Villa Pastis is a quiet retreat where no parties or gatherings will be permitted, out of respect for the neighbors and all guests.

Top location. Beautiful holiday home, spacious, clean, and with good air conditioning. Super hospitable owners. Helpful if you need anything, with great respect for your privacy. And a super nice pool, situated on the edge of the charming village of Barjac in a beautiful setting.

Very complete atmospheric cottage and fully equipped. The only downside (for someone who necessarily needs to be online) was the poor wifi connection. The hostess and host are particularly friendly and helpful. Central location for exploring all the highlights that the Ardeche and the Du Gard region have to offer. Barjac is a nice place with various restaurants, terraces and shops.
