A century-old manor house in a former whaling village. There has been evidence of human presence in these lands for approximately 40,000 years, and there must be a reason for that. The beauty of its surroundings, the region’s rich cuisine, the varied terrain—all part of a land of contrasts—make Asturias and its municipalities an unparalleled place to spend your holiday.
And there’s no better place to stay than La Casona del Piquero, a house over 100 years old that was completely renovated in 2007 to offer visitors all the modern comforts. From any window in the house, you’ll have access to breathtaking views of the Lastres fishing village.
In addition to nearby beaches, you can also explore several interesting trails in the area. The Cliffs Trail will leave you speechless, though even more impressive is the Jurassic Museum, located 3 kilometres from the lodging.
Colunga and Lastres are important gems of Asturian pre-Romanesque art. Notable monuments include the Church of Santiago de Gobiendes, the Palace of Gobiendes—a historic-artistic monument—and the Church of Santa María de Sabada.
La Casona del Piquero will allow you to enjoy all these monuments, beaches, cliffs, ruins, and traces thanks to the accommodation’s proximity to all these points of interest; moreover, if you visit these towns during the spring or summer, you’ll see how they become a true cultural hub. During these months, you can attend livestock fairs, street theatre festivals, or sample fabes at the Festival de las Fabes.
The house has four floors in total. On the ground floor, accessible from the street, you’ll find the fully equipped kitchen and the living-dining room. One floor below, there is a master bedroom and a full bathroom. Another floor below, there is another bedroom with a large double bed and a full bathroom.
The living-dining room leads to the attic, where there are three single beds.

Recomendable.
