Charming apartment in a chalet located at the top of the Clotes piste above Sauze d'Oulx in a wonderful area for meeting and lounging in the sun or eating in the selection of bars and restaurants during the day. This is also a pick up/drop off point for the main ski schools and where the departure of the main chirlift to the top of mountains is.
A fantastic starting and finishing point for your ski adventures on the 400 km of pistes of the Milky Way as far as Montgènevre in France.
The entire chalet style apartment is wood panelled and furnished in typical ski lodge decor. The main entrance leads directly into a cozy lounge area with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the pistes. Large flat screen for Dvd viewing on large, comfy sofa. Walk past bathroom to second lounge with sofa, arm chairs, Tv, dining table and custom made open plan kitchen. Sliding doors lead out to open private decking off which you step directly on to the snow ( at the moment sliding door is not in use, please ask ) .
Stairs take you down to the master bedroom with double bed and with small lounge area ensuite. Glass doors lead out to a private sun lounging area and offering views of the amazing Chaberton mountains. (This area is warmer than upstairs decking so although no access upstairs to the exterior, you can access this way)
Separate bunk room featuring four custom made full size bunk beds.
Wood panelled bathroom with shower, toilet and bidet.
Winter
GETTING TO OUR HOME ON THE DAY OF ARRIVAL AND RETURNING TO THE VILLAGE ON DAY OF DEPARTURE
Our home is at the top of one of the main pistes called Clotes. YOU NEED TO TAKE THE CHAIRLIFT which is running between 9am and 4:45 pm from the village to our place and you can use your ski pass to use it or buy a ticket up. After this time getting up and down to the village depends on the snow conditions. Obviously in full season there is only the chair lift up and down SO YOU MUST PLAN YOUR ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE ACCORDINGLY We are very close to where the Clotes chair lift takes you to.
When chairlift isn’t running you walk up to Baite Clotes or down to the village . It’s obviously down hill for reaching the village and uphill to return. It’s a pretty walk through woods for about 10/20 minutes and then down the steep Clotes hill for another 10/20 minutes (down/up times ) but again depends on fitness levels :) Again, shopping can be done using the chairlift as supermarket is very close the the departure of chairlift and you use your ski pass. It’s very important you consider these points before booking as otherwise you could be disappointed.
We have amazing restaurants up on the pistes and bars for apres ski drinks and meals. These restaurants are VERY BUSY so worth booking your meals well before arriving if you come during peak season to avoid disappointment. I can give you suggestions and information.
There is unfortunately no skidoo service in our area.
We have self check in so you either pick up keys from our housekeeper in the village before taking the chairlift or arrange something else. I will inform you before your arrival.
So when you arrive in Sauze, do some shopping g if you need to, drive to the Clotes chairlift and unload your bags, park your car in the car parks near the chair lift and then buy tickets. Load your things on the chair lift and travel up to the top. From there it’s a few minutes walk to the chalet . Our chalet is behind the Bar La Sosta which you will see just up from where you get off the chair lift. See Check In information on this listing.
We have a charge for late check in so please inform us if you know you are arriving after 18:00 and remember you will have to walk up from where you leave the car as the chair lift isn’t running. We will give you clear instructions for arrival.
