The Cottage at Ripsley has a private gate that opens directly onto the South Downs with plenty of S Downs trust walks on your doorstep as well the coast and London close by ( 45 mins to the beach, 1 hour to Waterloo) . We're situated in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Dark Skies area yet there are lovely market towns, well known ones such as Petworth ( for antiques and Midhurst for the polo. The Cottage at Ripsley is a great place to get away from it all yet well placed for beach and city day trips - there's a huge choice of places to visit nearby, on the coast, in local cities and towns and in the countryside. We send all guests prior to their arrival a PDF that covers recommended walks/cycle routes, places to visit, local recommended pubs/restaurants and a wide variety of outdoor sports and activities that can be prebooked before your stay. The pool and tennis court are open, weather permitting from the end of May to mid September. and availalbe to guests, Monday - Saturday, 9am to 1.30pm, the shade appears later on the pool.

We are close to Chichester, Portsmouth, Southhampton, Winchester, Goodwood, Witterings beaches and the Surrey hills and well placed for cyclists, walkers, couples and families.

The cottage has a sunny patio area with BBQ and furniture for sitting outside, this leads onto the large lawn with badminton and a football net. Garden games such as giant chess and cricket are stored in the cottage for your use . The azalea grove is next to the cottage, this has a fire pit and is a peaceful, lovely area to relax in in the evening.

BTW we have a 10 yr old chocolate labrador called Maddie who you may see, she has no access to the cottage, but if you'd like, is open to playing ball games!

We can let you know of local food delivery services and if you require extra help with housekeeping, washing and ironing we can arrange this with prior notice.

Beautiful place and excellent host. You’ll love everything about this place from gorgeous grounds and countryside setting to the fully kitted games room to the spiral stairs leading to a huge bedroom plus second bedroom and kitchen. Susan even sorted a long mirror so that my wife can wear her saree properly:)
