Large characterful farmhouse cottage close to Guildford and the renowned beauty of its surrounding villages.
Described as enchanting and almost magical, its white archways give a Mediterranean feel, and add to the abundance of charm of this truly unique property.
This beautiful character home is traditional but with well-appointed modern touches, and while cosy it is also very spacious. The stylish interior leads you out to a generous secluded garden, with areas for outdoor dining and recreation.
The combination of its high vaulted ceilings, beams, cosy rooms and large garden makes it a perfect place for all the family to gather and relax or entertain.
With accommodation extending to almost 2,000sq ft there are five bedrooms, superb dining room (with seating for up to 12!), two bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, utility room and front porch.
The idyllic semi-rural setting in the grounds of a 15th Century Farmhouse adds to the overall feeling of peace, comfort and a connection with the countryside. The Farmhouse itself is steeped in history, with links to various historical (and current) political figures and aristocratic peerage.
You will be situated close to the River Wey, with a wonderful nearby nature reserve only a short walk from the house. Nearby Whitmoor Common (also within walking distance), and the famed Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, provide miles of wonderful countryside to explore. There is also a lovely village children’s play park with a pond just across the road from the house.
The countryside access is balanced perfectly by easy access to nearby Guildford, with its many recreational opportunities including the renowned Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, a multiplex cinema, the G-Live entertainment venue, the Spectrum Sports and Leisure Centre in Stoke Park and golf at a number of local clubs.
You will also have fast and easy access into London – you can reach the city centre in well under an hour from the front door using nearby stations at Woking or Guildford. The train services are fast and frequent into London Waterloo. The nearby A3 (less than a 5 minute drive) provides a direct route to London and the south coast, linking with the M25 for the airports and the national motorway network.
The property is accessed via a gated entrance leading to the private courtyard situated to the front of the property, where there is ample parking for multiple vehicles. It also boasts a good size fully secluded garden.
