Situated in Port Sunlight, the historic village founded in 1888 by William Hesketh Lever to house the workers from his soap factory, Port Sunlight has more than 900 Grade II listed houses designed by over 30 architects, set in 130 acres of parkland and gardens, It boasts a neo classical art gallery which houses internationally renowned Pre Raphaelite paintings and a museum as well as tea rooms and a pub, The Bridge Inn.
Scenes from Peaky Blinders, Chariots of Fire and the biopic of J.R.R. Tolkien have all been filmed in the village.
The cottage is a 5 minute walk from two train stations, one at either end of the road, with direct links to both Liverpool and Chester city centres. The motorway (the M53) is 5 minutes away and it is a 10 minute drive or 10minutes on the train to Woodside should you wish to catch the Mersey Ferry to Liverpool.
The Wirral is bounded by the River Mersey to the west, the River Dee to the east and the Irish Sea to the north. It has 5 designated local nature reserves, Bidston moss, Dibbensdale, Heswall Dales, Hilbre Island and Thurstaton Common. There is also Wirral Country Park, the first to be established in Britain.
