Casa la Coma is a unique property on the edge of the medieval village of Pratdip, bordering the beautiful SIerra de Llaberia mountain rage.
It was built around 100 years ago and is full of character and comfort you would expect from a traditional country house. It has an upstairs double bedroom with adjoining bathroom and dressing room with sofa bed. A large internal balcony with another sofabed overlooks the ground floor living room. Downstairs has a double / twin bedroom, living room with cosy sofas and fireplace, dining area and traditional farmhouse kitchen, equipped with all modern facilities.
The large front garden and patio has a table, chairs and sun loungers with great views of the village. There is also a beautiful walled garden, with an outdoor barbecue kitchen and large sitting / dining area.
A second downstairs bathroom can be made available for guests on request, please ask for more information.
To the rear of the property, adjoining but completely independent, is the host's property. We have 4 hectares of land, including 'la coma', our mountain, and are developing a small eco farm. We would be happy to show guests around the land and farm should they wish.
Pratdip is a pretty medieval village on a rocky prominence surrounded by mountains of the Sierra Llaberia. The name is derived from the Catalan word for plains or meadows - prat, and a Moorish word for a wild dog - dip. Legend has it that 'vampire' dogs used to roam the hills attacking unfortunate travelers. Whilst you needn't worry too much about the vampire dogs these days, there is a village fiesta celebrating them towards the end of October.
There are dozens of well marked walking routes of varying difficulties in the surrounding mountains, countless trails for mountain biking, popular rock climbing areas nearby and if all that gets too much then some of the best beaches of the Costa Daurada are just 10 - 15 minutes drive away.
In the village there is an open air swimming pool, three cafe/bars, a village store, a bakery and a pharmacy all within 2 minutes walk. Nearby are two restaurants.
Other points of interest in the area include the river Ebro (famous for fishing) & delta, Miravet castle, a number of chapels and monasteries including the nearby Ermita de Santa Marina, Parc Sama, Tortosa, Tarragona, Siurana and more.
Feel free to ask us for more info about the area.
