General description

This property, dating from 1845 and completely renovated in 2012, is located in the interior of the island of Gran Canaria, in the municipality of Santa Lucía de Tirajana. It is comprised of two completely independent houses one from the other, a century-old house and a rural porch with more than 100 years old, in addition to having parking and swimming pool completely private. The caves of the Guanches shelter it from any hint of civilization. It is the perfect place for those who love silence.

One of the main attractions of this beautiful place are the contrasts of the vegetation and the arid zones it contains. The olive tree is characteristic of the farm to which the house belongs, and the nearest town, Santa Lucia, is located 5 kilometers away. This picturesque town of Gran Canaria has artisans dedicated to various disciplines (ceramics, looms, palm ...) and an agricultural market every Sunday of the week, being able to acquire fresh produce directly from those who till the land. In addition to the countless birds that fly over the area with their peculiar songs, the Tirajana basin, to the southwest of the island, provides a bright sun almost all year round.

 How to move

The means of transport recommended to access the house and to move from it to other places on the island is the car.

Mainly, because there is no means of public transport that can make the journey between the nearest town (Santa Lucia de Tirajana) and the house itself. In addition, the property has a completely private parking to park the vehicle that is rented.

Due to the situation of the house, right in the center of Gran Canaria, there is the possibility of combining the more mountain activities with those that are more typical of the coast. This is due to the good road connections of the town of Santa Lucía, which makes it very easy to reach other points of the island's geography.

 Attention to guests

The attention to those who decide to stay in this property will be completely personalized 24 hours a day. If you have any questions or any inconvenience, you will be provided with a telephone number to resolve any matter at the time that is necessary and in the fastest and most professional way possible..

 Other noteworthy aspects

It is practically indispensable to have a vehicle and driving license to access the house and / or move from it to other places on the island, since it is only possible to do so by road. In addition, another positive aspect of the place is the invitation that makes the guests of this house to go hiking and walking in the area. During the spring it is almost essential to let the ear guide you to the ravine, which probably runs water during these dates.

 House rules

At Finca Mariola we want the guest to feel at home. It is precisely for this reason that we ask all those who stay in it to treat this house as if it were theirs. In the event that anything breaks or breaks down, we ask that you let us know immediately so there is total transparency.

 Services and common areas

Each house has its own privacy and its own services. Nothing is shared with any other guest who may be living at the same time as another. Each one will have their own parking and the houses do not communicate at any time.

As for the services available to each house, we highlight each of the kitchens in each of the houses, as they are fully equipped (oven, vitro, microwave, dishwasher, minipimmer, etc). Each of the houses has its rest area and its own outdoor pool with jacuzzi. In addition, the property also has Wi-Fi network for those who can not resist the temptation to reconnect with the outside world. You will not miss anything!

* The third bedroom and the second bathroom will only be available when you rent for more than 4 people.

2weeks of cycling with friends. Road access to the house is not the easiest since it has a few steep climbs and add about 400 feet of elevation both ways. House is very clean, old finca. You can lock yourself out of the rooms if you are not careful.

We felt very much at home for the 10 days we stayed. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, the kitchen and bathroom have everything you need, though a dishwasher might be a welcome extra. The outdoor area offers various kinds of cosy furniture for at least 20 people, a gorgeous view, and sunlight ...
