A stay requires membership of the German Youth Hostels. If none is available, membership can be taken out on site. Family membership 22,50EUR per year from July 11,25EUR.
The shimmering Edersee lake in front of your eyes, the green mountains and Waldeck Castle as a backdrop, and in the evening the eerily beautiful howling of wolves from the nearby wildlife park in your ears: Dive into your holiday. If you love water sports and nature, Waldeck Youth Hostel is the right place for you. Located on the edge of the forest in the Kellerwald National Park, it's just a stone's throw from Lake Edersee and the lakeside promenade. There you'll find an adventure playground, jetty, lido, sailing school and boat hire. Ideal for family holidays or active holidays.
Incidentally, Lake Edersee is the second largest reservoir in Germany and one of the cleanest lakes in Hesse. Worth seeing: its dam wall and hydroelectric power stations. Its surroundings are also charming. Experience the charming low mountain range landscape, which geographically belongs to the Rhenish Slate Mountains. Spectacular natural beauty awaits you on the primeval forest trail, for example - lace up your hiking boots. Or saddle up your bike or mountain bike to go on a discovery tour in the mountains or in the unspoilt river landscape of the Eder.
Fun and excursions are of course also part of the programme: In the nearby wildlife park, a bird of prey show is fascinating and the summer toboggan run invites you to take bold descents. Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe, Bad Wildungen or the imperial town of Fritzlar make it possible to take a stroll through history.
We also offer GPS treasure hunts, themed hikes and bat excursions on school trips for all kinds of oohs and aahs. And for a more relaxed holiday, there's football, beach volleyball, table tennis, barbecues, campfires and disco evenings in our outdoor area. Welcome to a holiday with a lake view!
