SUMMARY
This very stylish two bed one bath apartment is situated on the Newcastle south quayside in the historic Watergate Building.
The apartment has it's own entrance and has a smart lounge and dining area as well as a fully equipped kitchen.
Ideal for corporate clients and for leisure guests the apartment is not a "party pad".
HISTORY OF THE BUILDING
The Watergate Buildings were built in 1830 and are adjacent to the Swing Bridge listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England. In the cellar of the buildings is a surviving sandstone arch of the medieval Tyne Bridge. The Watergate Buildings are also on the site of the medieval Bridge Chapel of St. Thomas the Martyr, which stood on the north end of the medieval Tyne Bridge. The chapel was demolished in the 1820s/30s. The Church of St Thomas the Martyr, at Barras Bridge, was built by John Dobson in 1827-30 to replace the medieval chapel. A narrow alley, called Watergate, runs along the east side of the Watergate Buildings.

Ideally placed to access by foot all of the wonderful things Newcastle upon Tyne has too offer, the apartment is close to the vibrant quayside restaurants and pubs, the city centre, cultural highlights such as The Glasshouse, Utilita Arena and Newcastle Cathedral as well as the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
Excellent local bus and rail links will allow our guests to access all of the stunning North East area including it's fantastic coast.
