## Emplacement

Lormont owes its name to its hillsides which were once covered with laurel trees "Mons Laureus".

Located on the right bank of the Garonne, 6 kilometers downstream from Bordeaux, the city has a rich and ancient past whose traces are still perceptible today. Privileged by its geographical situation, Lormont was first a defensive site, a port, then a place of residence and vacation.

Today, Lormont is a town of about 22,000 inhabitants, accessible by tramway and open to the river, which draws from its traditions the strength of its modernity.
