Location & surroundings
This house on stilts is ideally located between the port of Gujan and the port of Larros, facing the sunset and the oyster huts, with a direct panoramic view of the Arcachon Basin. Located in Gujan, near Arcachon, this house will enable you to make the most of your stay with family or friends, right on the water.
The restaurants and tasting huts are a 5-minute walk away, and all summertime entertainment in Gujan is available at the Port de Larros, just 5 minutes from the house. The train station, also just 5 minutes away, provides direct access without a car to Arcachon and its beaches (trains every 30 minutes) and Bordeaux (trains every 30 minutes), and allows travelers to arrive from Paris in 3 hours. The Port de la Hume (a 15-minute bike ride away) offers summer shuttles to Cap Ferret. You can board with your bikes.
- Réserve Ornithologique du Teich - Arcachon Zoo, route de Cazaux, for a relaxing day out. - Aqualand in Gujan - Typical market in La Teste on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the Halles, but also many market gardeners outside, organic produce, Pyrenean cheese, confits, foie gras, shoes, clothes, etc., guaranteed atmosphere, with a glass of white wine or coffee at the end. - The famous Halles d'Arcachon
- Dune du Pilat 9 km - Andernos-les-Bains 40 km (53 minutes by car) - Bordeaux 66 km (50 minutes by car)
It's hard to choose from the multitude of activities on offer in the Bay of Arcachon! Take advantage of all its attractions, and discover the spectacular Ville d'Hiver district, with its superb turn-of-the-century houses, its park and its belvedere with a breathtaking view of the Bay! The little train opposite the Arcachon tourist office will give you plenty of ideas for things to discover and a great overview of the town!
At lunchtime, let yourself be tempted by an oyster tasting in one of the Bassin's oyster ports - the port of Gujan is waiting for you - or at the market in La Teste or Arcachon (bring a container if you'd like to have them opened, and don't go too late for this request), then set off to conquer the majestic Dune du Pilat! If you feel like taking to the open sea, there are regular boat shuttles from the Thiers jetty in Arcachon to Cap Ferret (it's best to book online), Ile aux oiseaux and the famous cabanes tchanquées! The arguin bank, transparent water, paradise on earth! Descent of the Leyre River, at the Le Teich ornithological park, choose to be accompanied by a guide or alone with your kayak!
